Yes it's true. Latency while recording is not discernible at buffers of 64 or 32 samples at 44.1K/24 bit. I haven't even bothered to test at 128 but I'd say that latency is probably equivalent or less than my 002 at 64 samples.

Since I only do music, mostly bands, I will never need more than 64 inputs (my current setup has 24 and I never use all of them). I sort of view the HDN route for music as the low cost upgrade path looking to the future. I build a new computer every 3 or 4 years for $1000. So, over 10 years I will build 3 computers and each generation will see phenomenal increase processing power.

It's a personal preference for everyone as to whether they choose DSP or not. I'm just fine without it. I did decide to get a couple of new Black HD interfaces and all I can say is they sound very, very good.
