Default MBP 15" function keys losing shortcut functions after updates?

Not sure exactly when this started happening. It was either the update from High Sierra to Mojave or the update to 2019.5 but the functions keys on my Apple magic keyboard seem a bit amiss. I can only access the Zoom (F5) and Trim (F6) tools of the smart tool via the function keys. The other Function keys for the Smart Tool have reverted back to the functions on the apple keyboard like screen minimisations and iTunes functions. I thought I remembered back in PT 12 there was and optimisation setting that allowed PT shortcuts to override the apple key board shortcuts. But I can't find that info on Avids site but then I could be mistaken. Perhaps there is a setting that needs to be reset after the PT 12-2019.#and or mOS High Sierra to Mojave updates.

Anyways I would like to get these shortcuts back, if anyone has any ideas.... thanks in advance.
