D-Control and D-Command did have an option/pref called ApTarget whereby clicking on an Insert or Send or Output (Panner) in the Pro Tools UI would Focus that particular track on the surface. S6 takes a slightly different approach allowing you to Attention (focus) based on a simple track selection from the Pro Tools UI.
