Pretty much, turn your tracks down. Select them all an move them down by the same amount. I use the TL Mastermeter on my master fader set for -3db, and mix no hotter than that. It gives good headroom for mastering and you will find your mixes have a lot more depth and clarity. No need to push it hard all the time.
