Default Re: FW800, E-SATA or other solution for HD3 users?

you can still use eSata on a MacPro

There are two spare SATA ports on the motherboard
users have them extended to the extra slot cover next to the video card and then you can plug in 2 more eSata drives
A user over at Macintouch suggested using something like this...

To make use of those two extra internal ports

Motherboard Dual SATA Ports
In addition to the Mac Pro SATA 4-bay tray system, there are also two more SATA ports on the Mac Pro motherboard just under the front fan assembly.
They are marked as "ODD SATA" on the mother board. It appears these ports are to be used in the future to support SATA optical disk drives.
