I'll pass this on to our IT group to see why the dialog is worded that way.
It does sound like it's doing the right thing by taking you to your product, since that's where you would click "Renew Support" to either purchase the renewal from the Avid store or enter a code purchased from a reseller. You would only enter credit card info at the time you actually purchase (renew) your plan.
