The snare can be routed to its own output which can then come back on an Aux input track.

The reason you still hear the snare in your master is because the snare is also send to the overhead and room mics. Take down the sends to the room and overhead mic and it should be silent in the master. You lose a part of the realism of the snare though but that can be solved in other creative ways.
