If a sales-dood told me that I wouldn't walk away....I'd run away. As tele player said, there are quite a few nice sounding mics available in that price range. I personally have a Rode NT1-A and I am about to get one of the Rode K2's, but that is a little more than you are wanting to spend. The K2 is about $700.00 at most places I have seen.
