Many have hundreds or even thousands of samples of latency, and that will make it tough to record with all that latency. Some basic plugins like BF76 and the stock EQ have no latency.

I conducted the prescribed instructions and it did allow me to lower the buffer to 128 samples, however, there is still a sizeable delay between pressing the keys and hearing the sound.
