If you are on a high resolution Mac,

Mouse Locator Agent has been useful since 30" monitors came out. And free.
Thanks for your response, Ill try and be more specific.

Im in ProTools 12.8.3 running under macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 and working in the Edit Window. I am editing midi tracks and have the Smart Tool switched on. When navigating and moving around in the tracks, the cursor is insufficiently sized and/or contrasted to the back ground to see it immediately. To find it Im having to move it around and still it is not immediately visible. In appearance it is a tiny plus sign, like a crosshair and is difficult to locate particularly during playback when the playlist is moving, my solution is to stop playback, move the mouse to an arbitrary position like the top left hand corner of the screen to see it, then resume editing, its enormously frustrating and counter creative. A simple solution would be to give it a contrast size/setting as an option in preferences so a user can have it in a size/colour of their choice, I realise the accuracy of the cursor position is important but the tiny crosshair in the centre can still be used for pinpointing the edit, just make the surround a bit bigger and a different colour, I thank you for your patience if you read this far

Best regards
