Yes in principle. But what any drive supports depends on that drive. And details (before you even get to TRIM) matter as M.2 drive performance/technology vary hugely, it's just a card format that support multiple possible actual interfaces from slow old SATA up to 4 x PCIe 3.0 lanes.
The latest M.2 3 x PCIe 3.0 MVMe drives like the Samsung 950 Pro have just stunning performance and only a few hundred dollars.
What exact drive are you asking about in what exact computer?
