May be sample rounding? how much is the length changing?

My understanding of this is that because of sample rounding, each bar is not actually the same length of samples. for example if you picked a particularly unlucky tempo/sample rate combination resulting in a bar length ending in .5 of a sample, all odd numbered bars may be 1 sample shorter than even numbered bars. if that makes sense? Someone probably explained it better than me elsewhere.

So basically when duplicating, we are forced to choose between SAMPLES = duplicates the audio perfectly end-to-end but getting slightly off the tempo grid every time you duplicate, or TICKS = keeps the audio perfectly on the grid at the expense of chopping off the end or creating gaps between clips.
