If you really feel you need to make some adjustments before sending - I'd suggest the iZotope Nectar 3 Plugin. Be sure to watch their tutorials so you know how to use it. Less is always more. So for compression, it's best to do none before sending, but if you did: 2:1 would be on the safe side. On EQ, again less is more, but cutting is more common than boosting: Cut from 60Hz or so. You may need to slightly dip (a couple dB) in the 250Hz - 450Hz range if you are dealing with any boxy sounds, but that's about it.
