I am assuming your referring to the W-21XX series and not the Sandy Bridge E5-2687W’s

Probably no one is going to answer on the newer W-21XX series - they are too new and pretty pricy.

I used an older v1 2687W on a pro tools build for a few years, X79 - LGA2011 chipset.

That’s really where the deal is going to break down (the mobo chipset) if it is a bad deal and it won't work, the chipset is most likely going to be the culprit.
