- running PT 12.5.2 on OS X 10.11.6 (yuck, I know)
- BlackMagic Intensity Pro 4k PCI card for video playback to TV
- orignial ATI Radeon 5770 graphics card

So aside from the terrible GUI slowness when running PT 12 under OS X 10.11 (eagerly awaiting PT approval for MacOS Sierra to hopefully correct that!), my main issue is that I have a lot of Avid Video Engine slowness and issues.

Having sat through the entire Avid Video Engine Webinar the main take-away is that better graphics cards = better video engine performance. So to my point:

Can anyone recommend the best reasonably priced graphics card upgrade I can make to my Mac Pro tower to improve Avid Video Engine performance? Ideally something officially Apple-sanctioned, so I'm not dependent on some random firmware hack and dicey driver support. Any guidance is most appreciated!

It's futile.
I tried other cards.
Its the OS.

Wait for Sierra.

Using MXF DNXHD36 has been the one thing that improved the issue.
