This is a bad idea no matter what the reason.....for one main reason. HOW WILL YOU KEEP THAT HARD-DRIVE COOL? If you have a 7200 hard drive in there, keep in mind the power supply for the drive is not dedicated nor is it anything special. There is no adequate cooling for the drive, making it far more likely for continual lockups or overall disk failures. You really need a good external firewire hard-drive.
