Default Re: PT12 / Dolby Atmos

They have recently moved the goalposts as far as studio certification goes. Now, for just a Trailer / Commercial license, there's no minimum room size, but it has to have the minimum Atmos install. However, for a full features room, there is a minimum size, but you only need to install 7.1, and have the ability to install Atmos on demand. This shift in policy is nothing to do with driving forward tech standards, but all to do with Dolby desperately trying to get some money out of the post production sector, now that most features and short form bypass them and go straight to DCP. Remind you of anyone? Familiarity breeds contempt.
