Thanks for the tip. I bought a QVS display port to HDMI converter (up to 4K/60Hz Active Ultra HD) that works with a MacBook Pro TB to HDMI (at 60Hz), and got both the 4K monitor and a 2K monitor working simultaneously with the 5870 in the Mac Pro. The 2560x1440 monitor works fine direct with the DP connector, and the 4K monitor works on the DVI, but at 30Hz. The DP to HDMI converter will also display on the 4K monitor, but only at 30 Hz.
