Default Re: Least Expensive was to get into TDM

I'd do the adat bridge 24 (make sure it's a 24 bit version) and not an 882 cause the 882 doesnt pass 24 bit digitally. the 888 (18 bit version) passes 24 bit digitally via the digital ins and outs. the 24 bit adat bridge has 16 adat ins and outs and even a stereo pair of analog d/a

upgrading to 64 tracks can be done via a 200 dollar mix i/o card but it doesnt give you more dsp chips.

if I were you I would pick up a d24, a mix farm, a dsp farm, and an 888 (18 bit)

total price? maybe 2k tops. and from there, get a pci expansion chassis for 300 bucks and start adding dsp farm cards.

oh, kenny gioia has a mix core and mix farm card (Mix Plus) available for sale as well as a 1622 interface. he'd make ya a deal i am sure.
