System is MacPro 5,1, now 32GB ram (yes, I had my old 8GB to test if my new memory was problematic, but I'm having same issues with the old 8GB ram).

That's interesting. This is a very fresh installation of MacOS 10.13.3 on blank new drive.

I have installed the latest version of iLok license manager.

What is that kext?
