I put this together a couple of months ago for well under $1000. I bought most of it used. Guess people are moving on to the new socket 2011 rigs.
Next up, install windows so I can try some mild OC'ing. Also looking for a 6-core CPU. Deals keep getting better and better.
Also I don't remember the exact specs. I'll edit my post ASAP for more detail. If I was doing it again I found a dual socket 2011 Xeon board the looks promising. And two quad core Xeon e5's that aren't too expensive. :)
