I just purchased and successfully installed Pro Tools SE with the M-Audio Fast Track interface device. Everything seems to be working fine. I now want to purchase a MIDI keyboard to play/record the virtual instruments included with PT SE. My questions are: 1) can I successfully add a MIDI keyboard controller for use with my set-up; 2) are there any requirements such as the specific brand or type of keyboard that need to purchase; 3) I plan to plug the MIDI keyboard directly to my MacBook Pro (running OSX 10.6.8) via USB - are there any special steps to take so that the keyboard will work with my Fast Track and PT SE software. FYI, my preferred keyboard is the M-Audio Keystation 32. Thanks for helping me with these questions.
