FWIW, I like the Focusrite ISA-428 for overheads, ride and hat in my rig(not as much character as a 1073, but solid performance at less than half the DPA unit). If you go that route, do go for the newer Mk II version as the older one(with the VU meters) has some issues(the old PSU makes a lot of heat).

If you do need the digital connection, then maybe check out the API A2D

TBH I have been looking at the Lunchbox route...Plus I have now seen the Warm audio WA273 that looks interesting.
