IMHO - you might want to try out a few mics before you buy.

In my limited collection, I've got Shure SM 57, 58 & 94, PG81 and KSM 27 (which, of course, is out of the budget you listed).
I've tried using these mics for different moods and each has its own aural color.

If possible, ask your local music store if you can record your voice using their mics - just a few seconds with each mic will give you a good idea on what sounds good to you.

Then go from there.
