Pretty much all you need to know is here (the reality is unclear/varies.. you need to try it on your system if you want to take that risk) and on the driver page (not officially supported and won't be, and no updates anymore).

Unfortunately M-Audio lower-end stuff was such a failure Avid dumped the business. Avid just was not/is not set up to do that well. Maybe just time to buy a new interface. Lots of other companies to choose from, including Focusrite, Presonus, UAD, Motu, ... A Focusrite 2i2 for example is not expensive and solves any compatibility issue you might have.
