Don't make the mistake I did last year. I switched from a perpetual license to a subscription so I would only pay $99 instead of $199, and the day I switched, which was a few weeks before my perpetual license would expire, it set the starting date to that same day, so I lost two weeks of coverage. Even though after much arguing with Avid's tech support (who in the area of billing questions, totally suck), I was able to restore myself to the $199 plan but they never fixed the date issue.
