With the Arturia stuff you have access to the actual synth whereas with UVI's synths you don't. UVI samples certain patches made on the hardware. Which means for a Moog Modular patch in Arturia's version you get to tweak the actual oscillators, filters, change routing, etc. With UVI you only get to tweak the patches sound but not the basic structure of said sound.


That being said I do like Falcon for the way you can layer and tweak sounds inside the program that you really can't do in an Arturia synth. You just have to spend some time drilling down in the 'tree' section at the left of the Falcon gui. FYI I don't use the built-in fx in any of Arturia's synths. Falcon can be layers upon layers upon layers with fx if you want and the cpu hit ain't all that bad.
