Not sure about this but I know people are using Reaper in Rewire mode into PT. Maybe you can use another interface for Reaper (like an inexpensive Firepod) and record into it (Reaper via firepod) and PT at the same time? If not in rewire mode, can you midi sync them so start and stop under 'midi control'?
