Not having enough cpu power and ram memory maybe be what is causing your system not to handle reverbs. Recording at 96K on a slow system with limited resources may not be the best way to go, and it would require to have a large audio drive. Unless your 96k sessions are small.
If you convert your sessions to 48k, just let PT do the work. Create a new session at 24/48 and import your 96k files. You wont hear a difference.
