I would stay away from sidechaining the 002 and a Hard Drive(especially Lacie)
The so called FW Hub of the 002 is not what i would call reliable.
Also have in mind that the iMac(2) FW ports are based on a common bus also.
Since there is no other workaround connect each device to each FW Port,or use the Int Drive for rec and the Lacie or whatever for Backup.
