Personally, it depends on the rig for me. If the rig sounds nearly perfect without it I'll put it at the end to tweak the sound. Certain rigs don't react as well with my PRS so I'll use it in front of the rig. (rarely) especially high gain rigs where I'll be switching pickups alot, I'll use it in front to pull out low frequencies that muddy up the sound with the neck pickup. My thoughts anyway.
