That being said, ProTools won't like a software RAID, as is created by Apple's Disk Utility, but I have a hardware RAID that does work. Other World Computing sells quite a few of these where you put in multiple drives and configure it how you want to run. ProTools sees it as one drive.

Agreed, I have an older G4 laptop with the PCI FW card and it works well. Same with the Hardware Raids. I've been using G-Raid drives for years without issues.
