Keeping your license that cost you a lot so far, from initial purchase to upgrades and payed annual plans, it is the wise option to choose.
Surrender it for a subscription, is the most stupid thing one can do, simply because having a perpetual license, you still have an asset.
Even if you don't update your annual plan (for $399) you can use PT as it is, or later you can sell it if you want and get back some cash...
If you exchange it for a subscription, once you stop paying you have nothing in the end...
Subscription benefits Avid and not you, simple as that!
