This is great! Thanks for the quick rundown of gear. Is it imperative to run Pro Tools HD when working with 5.1? When running ProTools HD, are there opportunities for running third party interfaces with 5.1 capabilities? I'm just looking to be a smart shopper and also explore alternatives to the Avid hardware. Are there any caveats to these third party devices?
