The last bits of code that are executed before the crash are Apple's code. The last bit of Avid code that is executed before the Apple code is Sys_ThrowIfOSErr. I am not a developer. I think that code means Pro Tools is finding some sort of OS error and trying to display an error message. Instead, Pro Tools is quitting. Avid obfuscated exactly what is going on with their code, which doesn't surprise me.
Do you get any different results if the 002 is disconnected? I know Pro Tools will not work without the 002. I am interested in knowing if the unexpected quit still happens.
