I agree with you, and also think Avid could address several other issues in PT, especially a need for things like Midi Playlists that have the same functionality of Audio Playlists.

Although I'm not exclusively a Midi composer / songwriter, I am wanting to get back to more sound design oriented music production, (as well as continuing more traditional 'Band' style songs) which does require more diverse Midi implementation than it appears are available in PT.

I know Logic is great for Midi stuff, but I prefer PT as a general DAW. It just feels more 'solid', even down to the GUI. LPX always feels like it's going to break from my end. That said, it IS great for Midi etc.
