I'd just like to ask a question...in my case, we don't have to trash our prefs with any sort of regularity, and I'm wondering why so many of you seem to do it a lot. Is trashing prefs something that you do to troubleshoot PT? Is it just something you do when you have a system freeze? Is it something that is just good to do on a regular basis? Are there any disadvantages to doing it and/or doing it often? Can someone just write a tiny paragraph on why trashing prefs is a good thing and/or when you really need to do it?

Hi,

There is no need to trash your prefs unless you are experiencing a problem that is NOT specific to one session! if you start to see strange behavour in a several sessions or have problems that can't be fixed by other means then trashing the prefs is often the answer! but first read the troubleshooting thread....

I've had no need to trash my prefs for the past 3-4 months
