Pro Tools 9 vs 8

I have mbox mini 2 and pro tools 8,

first off do the new mboxes ship with 9 do you get a free upgrade,

is 9 just 8 but you can use any interface.

bands have loads of people record them playing there songs many times and are posted on youtube, even sometimes before the song comes out.

My idea is to get the audio of the many different videos...

it can run without mbox being hooked up, we just don't know how to do it.
but I think some people apart from digi do. There was no Micro, mbox or any device connected. first I thought screen sharing...

even if theres not is that not what an Amp sim is doing converting you audio signal into midi.

I dropped a Drop D part to Drop B using pitch shift and it sounded like shlt
I have no way of knowing if this due to pitch shift or the riff sounds like shlt in drop B so I will record it in Drop...
