There really is NO reason not to turn them off- I have had loads of them over the years 192 and hd io……. - on for weeks at a time and some on for a few hrs on and off every day..
none has ever had...

as annoying as it is....just regular bypass would mean that the interfaces had relay between each input and output that would just feed the signal in a loop - therefore deactivating IS BYPASS when it...

It might be the cable that you use between the two units....there is a slight problem with the ground pin on the older cables - I would try a replacement of that before stressing over other things..

I just installed Big Sur on an external drive - with PT ultimate 2019.12..........
works absolutely fine - feels VERY snappy; program boots much faster than on Catalina.

It really is as simple as the fact that the bussing system introduces a delay - think of it as a middle layer that is active - introducing delay
or non active thus not intruding delay.

in an effort to deal design a solution - something AVID seem unwilling/unable to do.
