Re: Need help with ADAT litepipe and Digimax Mic Pre

Yeah man it works great. You need to go to your hardware setup in protools and I think it is in the other options part but set the clock sync for protools to adat optical. Be sure the digimax is on...

Re: acoustic sound

I'm guessing your talking about acoustic guitar. I have had the best results with 2 small diaphram condensors at a 90 angle from each other with the capsules (spelling?) about an inch away from each...

Re: Crashing type 2 error

I had this problem for a while, make sure your extensions set is setup for Protools and that you have disk cache set at 512, if you load new software you might need to rebuild your protools...

Re: Can I scroll the edit window from the keyboard or mouse??

Buy the logitech mouseman with the dual sensors. It has a button on the side you can have function as an option key, that way the wheel on the mouse can either scroll up and down or left and right,...

Re: Cheap Pre-amp

4 blue tubes would cost you about $600.00?

I think you would be happier with the presonus digimax LT, I think it is around $700.00 something and you get better convertors....

Re: off topic - oasys \'not enough execution cycles\' message

It's about 20 pages into the users manual but you double click on the program name in the window at the bottom of the mix channel. That brings up a window with a lot of paramaters you can adjust,...

Re: off topic - oasys \'not enough execution cycles\' message

I don't know if this will help but, I have had massive amounts of effects going, the only time I get that message is when I also have synth programs loaded in the oasys editor, in that case you can...

Re: New G4 800 has same amount of \'RTAS\' power as old G4 400mHz ???

I think we all need to push for a powered pulgin pci card from Waves or someone, with seperate adat and spdif, like the oasys card. The Oasys card made a freekin huge difference in my studio, I...

Re: mixing technique: sense of depth?

There is an article by Randy Neiman in the March edittion of Electronic Musician about this and other mixing issues, it's great. He talks about items in 3D space and how just a few ms of delay from...

Re: More of the Mic Pre\'s Gain!

It makes sense that if I have the imput levels set to -14db that since the preamp needs to be turned up louder that it will create more noise. It did seem as though there was a fatter sound when I...

More of the Mic Pre\'s Gain!

In the hardware setup, I was comparing the gain reduction between -2 and -14. When set to -14 you can push the preamp more, it was just peeking the meter in the yellow on the preamp. At -2 it's not...

Re: $500 for Mic Pre

I love my Presonus Mp20. You might want to contact presonus though, I heard the might be releasing a 2 channel version of the digimax, it would probably be around $500 and give you limiters and...

Re: Digimax vs. Digimax LT

The digimax is great in my opinion. I have found that you get much better sound when you can take care of transients with limiters allowing the signal to be way hotter when it hits the convertors,...

Re: sample rates...44.1 or 48...what do you use?

Haven't there been commercial albums that were done on adats at 16bit 44.1?
I thought most mikes and speaker systems only go from 20hz to 20khz at the most anyway, what would be the benefit then...
