And OK once more...

I tried the FW card in a different slot to no avail.

I removed the card, went back to the onboard FW, even tried trashing preferences etc, and no dice.

Ok...

I tried reseating the harness with no luck. It hasn't cured the clicking noises on startup as I'd hoped either.

Next I added the TI FW card and the the locked fader problem remains.

Hi all. Thanks for all the input.

Just to clear things up:

PT6 is running on an old Athlon XP set up with a TI FireWire board. The 002 runs flawlessly, and PT6 even records to the system...

Thanks, once again, to both of you.

I will try cleaning the fader contacts and see if this helps.

The power harness is probably overdue a clean too, so I will try this as well.

OK...I updated to 8.0.5 which updated the firmware and the problem persists.

BUT, and this is pretty weird, if I put fingers on more than 3 faders then the faders free up...

Well spotted there - it's a different room, about twice as big and definitely more reverberant. This is the first song I've recorded since I moved and it's caused me the problems getting the mix...

have you got Redrum wired into the Reason mixer???

You have to choose the input on the MIDI track in PT and make sure the AUX is feeding off the right Reason channels too.

There's also a red little target thing on the plugin window (and on sends and faders) that you can click on that keeps it up on the screen when you open another.
