Interesting comment. The UAD card hasn't really changed at all since inception.

Perhaps with all this CPU horsepower, it's time for UAD to go native?

But hey, some people like the UAD plug ins....

That would be perfect. I thought the UAD only worked with an expansion chasis.

Are there others who use this mobo and have a UAD card working?

Expansion chasis = 1400 USD
Quad = 1500 USD

total 3900 USD

Mac Pro 8 core = 3997 USD

For an additional 97 dollars I'll take 4 more more cores, a better (according to some) OS, and something...

Are you sure the UAD works? The update on the first page says they have been unable to get the UAD to work.

I must say I had never heard of that before. So I guess if you are not gaming, buy the lowest ram video card you can.

Now I don't feel so bad owning a Matrox with only 32 mb of ram.

What does the videocard ram have to do with ram available to windows? I thought they were independant of each other?

And, have we got the UAD cards working on these Quadzillas yet?

So whats the deal with the UAD cards that are not working?
Are both the PCI, and PCIe versions not working?
