Options for PT12 external video display?

Total newbie. Can't find straight answers through searches. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm on 12.7 and Windows 10. Is there a way to output the video track to an external...

Re: s1 fader replacement

Compressed air and Deoxit have had no impact. Sweetwater says they can sell me a hardware support contract, so I may go that route. Unless I decide I'm just being too fussy. :o

Thanks Eddie and...

Re: s1 fader replacement

Cool, thanks. I guess I was thinking of plastic as an internal, working part of the fader, but it sounds like you're saying that should not be an issue?

BTW -- are these (S1) faders individually...

Re: s1 fader replacement

Great, thanks. I've got an email out to my rep.

I'd like to try simple maintenance if I can avoid sending my S1 in. But want to be sure I do this right. I've read Deoxit can harm some plastics....

Re: s1 fader replacement

Geeze. You'd think AVID support would let me know as much. :(

Hmmm... I don't see it at Sweetwater. Who, then?

Re: s1 fader replacement

A support agent responded to me today that Avid doesn't sell hardware support contracts. What gives?

Re: best interface for video output?

I believe the idea is to fill the entire extra monitor's desktop real estate with the video window, so you don't see anything else. The extra monitor (in your case, the projector) would be displaying...

Video Output on a PC

Looks like the most cost-effective option, IIUC, is to add a video card to my system, which currently uses the host CPU's video capability for dual monitors. I'd like a third (a flat screen TV) to...

Re: Driver stopped working :^(

Sorry -- this was on my laptop, an XP system. Have since licked it. I think I downloaded a PT uninstall EXE from the AVID site (several weeks back, now). Seems to have done the trick. I was able to...

Driver stopped working :^(

Not sure why. Suddenly, I can't use my MBox2 Mini. I tried reinstalling the drivers. Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. I tried both Windows automatic driver installation as well...

Re: Assembling a VO track from several takes within a single file

I'll have a look at markers. Could be a nice way to keep things organized for my tiny brain. :o

Sounds like we have a work flow consensus. Thank you, gents. :-)

It also occurs to me that doing...

Re: Assembling a VO track from several takes within a single file

Yes, this is VO (I should've mentioned that), and this is the approach that I took out of the gate. Interesting that PT creates new audio files for each new region. Seems like a waste of disk space...

Re: Assembling a VO track from several takes within a single file

I'll have to try a few of these suggested approaches. Right now I'm using playlist view, with the 'master' file down below, jumping around the timeline to grab the pieces I need, and then assembling...

Assembling a VO track from several takes within a single file

Is there a way to reference the source sound file independently from the regions created from it? In the other DAW I use, there's a window where you can navigate around the big, long source file, and...

Re: Trim regions across multiple tracks?

I was getting excited about the A and S keys, only to find out that they don't work in shuffle mode (wonder why ). Dang. I need the trimmed regions to snap to the prior regions' boundary so...

Re: Trim regions across multiple tracks?

OK, that works. Tab to boundary, then shift-drag I-beam tool to complete the selection. Then delete selection. Thanks. :-)

Re: Trim regions across multiple tracks?

Well, not quite. The reason I usually prefer the trim tool is that I'm usually trimming at a butt splice, and so it's handy that the snap-to-region-boundary is automatic.

Is there a quick way to...

Re: Trim regions across multiple tracks?

Like I said up top, yeah, that works, but when it's a quick, on-the-fly situation, that's a bit cumbersome. :o

Trim regions across multiple tracks?

Sorry about this. I'm a newbie, and the documentation isn't offering up any easy answers.

I can do this by creating a group and then selecting the group, but I'd like to be able to do this on the...

Maybe this is a special case of...
