How to get rid of acoustic noise? Filter?

I recorded some sound (with a midiocre mic) with very high audio levels, because the sound I recorded was far away and quiet. How do I get rid of the acoustic noise now?

PTLE7.4 to 8.0, where do I get it?

My reseller gave me 7.4 not long ago, because he said 8 wouldn´t work with Avid. Now Avid supports PTLE8 and I only have the activation key for 7.4. Where do I get the 8 activation key?

how to uninstall PTLE 8 with Avid MC on same system?

I accidently installed PTLE 8 on a system on which Avid Media Composer 3.05 and analog Mojo is installed. MC3.05 is only compatible with PTLE 7.4 not 8.

I´ll upgrade to 1 GB RAM. The reason why I still want to use my old laptop is because I made a lot of really nice songs on it. To me it´s more than a disposable.
I hope 1.4 Ghz is enough processor...

Can I install PTLE on 2 different computers?
If not it doesn´t make sense to even try on the older system (which is a Dell Inspiron with 1.4 Ghz processor)
