Here's a song that was recorded and mixed by me at my studio. It's in french sorry if you don't understand the lyrics. The signer is my niece she wanted to make a demo, male vocal is her brother....

Not bad, not bad at all. I'd have placed a plate verb with some pre-delay on the snare a little, it's pretty dry. But you pulled out a good rendition of the song.

Missing the bass here listening on both my studio monitors (in treated room) and on the headphones.

Is your room treated? If not you might be compensating for hearing too much bass and it's taking...

IF you want to get rid of the muddiness in the low end, instantiate (open) a EQ 1 on all of your tracks (except maybe the kick if it's the one that drives the song, if it's the bass, don't put it on...

Rock on man!! :D Definite improvement in the low end makes the track more punchy and adds more growl which is needed in this style.

Do you do any parallel compression on the drum before mastering?...

Placing bass traps will help with low frequency standing waves. Meaning that the low frequency wont get amplified by the waves bouncing over and over off the walls, due to your control room...
