Re: Memory allocation problem

Hello, I'm encountering this issue for the first time. Pro Tools 7.4cs10, no chassis, MacOS 10.4.11, PPC Quad G5 2.5GHz, 4.5GB RAM

Is there a permanent fix/workaround for Pro Tools 7.4?

Re: Kick Track to Trigger TEMPO TAP

Echofarm makes a groovy little "zing!" pitchy sound when you change the tempo during playback. It's kinda cool... :D

Re: Mezzo, Mezzo

Why stress? Keep yourself healthy. Your client chose to backup files with the worst piece of backup software ever invented (IMHO).

If v3.8 was licensed with iLok, you can probably get a system up...

Re: Recording with Delay Compensation ENABLED Mid-Mixing..

Man...I already regret having posted here.

1) The summing of mics was done at the console. The number of channels being summed to a pair of busses and sent to Pro Tools has absolutely no bearing...

Re: Recording with Delay Compensation ENABLED Mid-Mixing..

Appreciate your smart ***** reply. I was not the only one to experience the bug. There were several posts about it on the DUC from different users.

As I said, this was some time ago, so I don't...

Re: X-Mass came early 2010 | PT 8.0.3 compatible with Soft Raid

Very interesting. Thank's for sharing that insight.

Can you expand upon this a little? You say you fixed an issue where hardware RAID's were not being "seen properly"? What does that mean? Is Digi...

Re: PT 8 REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS and power PC

Sorry, I'm not understanding this...

If you go to import session data dialog, and assign a track name in the session you're importing from to a track name in your current session, ie - you match...

Re: Recording with Delay Compensation ENABLED Mid-Mixing..

I hear ya. When the artists gotta go, the artists gotta go.

I avoid recording with ADC and the record compensation on because of a nasty bug that hit me a few years ago when I did a piano...

Re: Experience with Remote Desktop

I've used Timbuktu and VNC (same functionality as ARD) to do that all the time. Works fine. You're running Tiger, so the mobileme "back to my Mac" feature won't work to control the Tiger rig, but...

Re: X-Mass came early 2010 | PT 8.0.3 compatible with Soft Raid

Just an FYI - I experienced the same thing. Pro Tools appears to allow it. So...midway through a live recording (this was a 3 hour 16 track jazz concert I was tracking on the day after Christmas),...

Re: Digi, Not the features, just the fixes for ppc users.

+1 to that. Paying for the 8.x software gave me a reasonable expectation of receiving bug fixes and updates for the system upon which the platform was delivered (PPC).

Of course it's pointless to...

Pro Tools 8.0.3 PPC

v8.0.3 fixed many things I've been waiting for a long time...but it dumps PPC support. I can't use it.

I can't believe some of these bug fixes finally got done (some of the bugs are many years...

So happy I discovered this thread yesterday. Just used it on an episode of the TV show I'm mixing. This one had way beyond the usual amount of poorly recorded on-camera audio, plus a deadline that...

Re: Poll: How many still using PPC?

Pro Tools 7.4.x, HD3 PCIe, (2) 192 I/O, (1) 96 I/O, (1) 1622, Quad G5 PPC (the only PCIe PPC Quad-core desktop Mac), running Leopard. Rock solid.

Pro Tools 8 - I can live without it on the HD...

Re: Kernel panics on shutdown

Yes, I tried removing the Sonnet card. I uninstalled the Sonnet driver to rule out any kind of driver conflict. The problem persists without it. Kernel panic on shutdown after launching and quitting...

Also, just want to add that I've skimmed through other LE threads (I don't have time to read them all) so I'm aware Digidesign is working on various issues that are driver related.

Please just...

Re: Kernel panics on shutdown

No, that is not the case. In the crashing scenarios I've been experiencing, the MBox Mini 2 is plugged in prior to booting up the computer, and remains connected until shutdown. I've got an eSATA...
