OK, so first, you're not talking about the "Input" button, you're talking about the input selector pull-down menu in the I/O pane of the track, yes? Since it's not possible to "transfer" a template...

Pro Tools 8, ha!! Current versions of Pro Tools are 64bit and will run fine on any current OS. PT8 is absolutely ancient, and no, it won't run on a current OS. It's just possible it might work...

On your routing folder are there other tracks in that folder with high-latency plugs on them?

As a troubleshooting step: What about if the track in question is the *only* track in the routing...

Just to confirm - this does *not* work. I would classify that as a bug; "Clear Solos" should do exactly that, clear all solos including playlist solos.

So just fwiw; occasionally on my rig; I'll have a plugin open, I'll then click on a track in the edit window and the plugin window will close. All Eucon prefs are set to *not* open or close anything...

If you're in QuickPunch mode then Pro Tools is in "record" all the time regardless of where you actually make the punch - you can 'peel back' the newly recorded region to where you went into play...

I think the upshot is to avoid dual-mono whenever possible until (if ever) this buggy behavior gets fixed.
