I've been dealing with this for a while now. Even 12.4 is causing the same issues plus a new issue. I now rely on auto save so that I can work without crashes.

So I have solved this issue for me by Not saving at all and relying on auto backup every 2 minutes with 50 backups... I have the save twitch you develop after years of hitting save after any...

The file is 20bytes, with no actual .ptx extension, however the OS recognizes it as a Pro Tools file, but will not open in pro tools.
