It's not just Sony apps, either. I get the same problem with Steinberg's Wavelab 7.1, though Ableton Live 8.2 works okay with the cursor.

Thanks for the replies. I'm on XP and I've tried updating the firewire drivers for both onboard and the TI approved card. I did confirm that I have the latest 003r driver and I'm getting nowhere.

I definitely don't want to delete the files as I may need to go back to them. I'm working in post production and must create encapsulated sessions of various stems and mixes to deliver to the studio....

I had this same problem. Everytime I opened an old session, PT would shut down. The reason was that the WAVES plugins were causing a problem. I had to download the Pro Tools 7.0 WAVES update...
