Re: What is everybody with PT12 using for a Midi Keyboard Controller?

Oh I'm old enough Fred. I'm so old I forgot what that means... ;)

Never used a wah on a Rhodes or a Wurli, real or virtual. Always had one in my pedalboard though.

It seems the speed control...

Re: (NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin

Yeah, that's the upgrade price from Stereo Room 2016, which was free at one point from the Focusrite Plugin Collective.

Re: What is everybody with PT12 using for a Midi Keyboard Controller?

Fred,

I agree, Velvet is just great. Got that one crazy cheap on sale.

I assume you know you can adjust Fast/Slow/Break settings in the Cabinet window of the DB-33.

Not the expert here but...

Re: What is everybody with PT12 using for a Midi Keyboard Controller?

Just a MAudio Keystation MINI32 for the quick and dirty stuff. An ancient Casio Privia PX 300 for the full, 88 weighted keys piano type stuff.

Been looking for an excuse to upgrade either one or...

Re: (NEW) Eventide SP2016 Reverb Plugin

Absolutely marvelous! Great rooms, lovely (vintage) plates and I'm only halfway thru all the -excellent- presets.

At $29,- this is insanely good value for money.

Please excuse me as I have some...

Re: using a wacom-tablet for soundediting in pt

I've been using a very simple and affordable Intuos Draw for years. Tablet in the middle of my desk, keyboard to the left, Faderport to the right. Wireless mouse somewhere in between, mostly for the...

Re: How Many of Us Could Do This

Don't take my word for it, but I believe it's actually a requirement for aspiring tabla players to be able to vocalize the patterns even before they ever put their hands on skins.

Could well be a...

Or... Click on the Automation button (in the plug in window tool bar) and select 'Key' in the Plug-In Automation menu.

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

I'm not sure, 10.8.5 is not supported by PIA. I won't be back at that machine for another four weeks anyway. Vacation... :-)

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

Okay. I see. Well, that's basically what I tried earlier; editing a track name and a marker. It did not affect the changed plug-in setting(s).

To be absolutely thorough I tried the exact test...

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

Thanks a bunch Jack, works a treat.

I confess I don't even know how to do that... :o However, when I edit a track name or a marker -plug in window open- and hit 'Enter' the plug in settings...

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

By the way, I can't reproduce the plug-in 'stealing focus', either with the old E & G or the new E.

Even with the plug-in window open the return key works normal at my end.

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

Thanks Jack, I appreciate it. I've send you an email.

Re-installing didn't seem to do the trick. Oddly, when I load the SSL E as a VST in BlueCat Patchwork the vst presets are there.

Could be a...

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

Can I ask you where you got presets for the SSL 4000E?

I can't find .tfx files for the SSL either on my system or on the PIA site.

Re: PIA SSL strips & ducking

Seems to be working as expected here. Have you tried taking the Gate/Expander out of the equation? (Range and Threshold turned all the way down.)

Re: What do you like for slap back delay?

All of the above really. Also Softube Tube Delay, has useful Bass/Treble and Drive controls. ($49,-!) I also get great 'classic' slaps from Valhalla Freq Echo. (Free!)

I love how a nice slap can...

Re: New Plugin Alliance plugin - SSL?

As I understand it the discrepancies between the numbers and the actual frequencies affected with the EQ are an aspect of the modelling and a feature rather than a bug.
In a way I kind of like that...

Re: New Plugin Alliance plugin - SSL?

That would have been a more 'elegant' approach. I feel kind of stupid for having bought E, G (and N) and now, barely a year later, I have to pay another fifty bucks for an SSL approved update?

Re: Heads-up on Plugin Alliance SSL E channel

The discount is not time limited. I have E and N. G is permanently at $99,- in my account.

If I can't find anything else to spend my voucher on I might still get G at some point, for now I'm good...

There are some; https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/home-page/2013/7/10/7-ways-to-host-vst-or-au-plug-ins-in-pro-tools-11-and-earlie.html

Re: What kinf of tracks are these?

Exactly! This explains why you're not seeing any PAN controls.
